Credibility:

  • Owner performs all inspections!
  • Competitively Priced!
  • Experienced- since 1999!
  • Fast turn around!
  • Easy to read Report!
  • Inspection performed to nationally recognized  American Society of Home Inspectors guidelines!
  • Thousands of Home, Insurance, & Fire Inspections conducted.
  • Member of ASHI- American Society of Home Inspectors. ASHI has the most stringent requirements of any inspection organization for attaining Member status, their highest level [not Associate status]. To be a Member of ASHI is to have demonstrated technical proficiency and report-writing skills, and having committed to continuing education in order to achieve and maintain Member status. ASHI Members are required to pass a difficult certification exam, the National Home Inspectors Test. To be a Member is to have performed at least 250 fee paid inspections, no small number which requires considerable time and investment. Less experienced inspectors usually join other organizations that do not have such requirements. Copy of ASHI’s The Standard Of Practice For Home Inspections and The Code Of Ethics For The Home Inspection Profession.
  • ASHI Certified Inspector (ACI)- the only Certified Home Inspector that has been accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).   The NCCA evaluates parent associations such as ASHI for viability and integrity along with their certification programs for fairness, reliability, and means for recertification.  No other home inspection association meets this level of certification. View Documentation.
  • We do not sub out any part of our ASHI Standard of Practice components on our Standard Inspection.  No surprises!
  • We do not participate in pay for referral programs.  Believe it or not, some Real Estate Companies may have a ‘Preferred’ list of service providers that questionable home inspectors pay fees to  just to become part of that office program.  Who are they working for?  WeatherVane only works for you the buyer.
  • We do not offer nor receive gifts from those referring us.  Outcome of inspection is not based upon hopes of future referrals.
  • Your Inspection stops with us! Many home inspectors recommend some of their findings be further evaluated by qualified licensed contractors.  We are licensed contractors so therefore we can give the final say for most home components.  This saves time and money by preventing delays and paying for more inspections to be scheduled to further evaluate any concerns.  Additionally, the companies called in to further evaluate usually have an interest in getting jobs while there- we have no interests other than the inspection.
  • No delays for WMI’s! We do not send our Wind Mitigation Inspections to a separate qualifying engineer.  As licensed contractors, we fill out and qualify all our forms ourselves meaning no delays for you!
  • The local people that refer us utilize WeatherVane for their personal inspections.  Even people that do not refer us still call us for their own inspections!
  • Our Report was created to perform an inspection to ASHI’s The Standard Of Practice For Home Inspections And The Code Of Ethics For The Home Inspection Profession as well as specifically designed to go through an entire home without overlooking components.  You simply cannot fill out our report without performing the inspection as it requires specific answers that can only be obtained by doing the tasks involved. It was written because the pre-made forms and software available are too simple and leave room for error or question.   Home Inspectors in Florida and as far away as Georgia have purchased our Report for use in their businesses due to its thoroughness in an easy to read format.  The General Notes Section is written in a summary style format while the individual components [roof, HVAC, structure, etc.] are documented in both descriptive and check field format giving complete details of your home.  Go to our FORMS & LINKS page for a few sample pages or click link: SAMPLE REPORT.
  • I have been asked to write articles for national organizations concerning Home Inspections, Hurricane issues, and Roofing topics.  I have declined due to other pursuits that require my time as I do not choose to seek recognition at this time.
